Today's Featured Grade 12 Grad: Tuija Berthelot

Tuija has demonstrated strong leadership skills over the course of her four years at Chapleau High School. Tuijja has been an active member of the Student Senate since Grade Nine where she organized a variety of student-led activities including spirit days, holidays, cultural days, Pink Shirt Day and even representing our school at the Board Level. One key event that Tuija was part of was hosting a board wide leadership conference at our school for Student Senators from all ADSB high schools. Students from across the district came to Chapleau to participate in this completely student-led conference. Tuija was also actively involved in sports while at CHS. She participated as a member of the Badminton, Basketball, Soccer and Volleyball teams.

Tuija has demonstrated strong community involvement by volunteering above and beyond the mandatory 40 hours with the local gymnastics organization, the Township of Chapleau’s community events (Carnival and Canada Day Celebrations) and others. Tuija has shown a great deal of passion and warmth when working with younger students. She was always eager to organize activities and events for our K-12 students. Tuija has certainly been a great role model and leader!

Congratulations Tuija! Good luck next year as you pursue your goals of working to gain experience and participating in the ECE program through Distance Education with Sault College. Continue to make us proud and never forget your Chapleau High School roots!
